Retail Cleaning Operative - Gym Shark

Are you reliable, hardworking and someone who takes pride in keeping spaces clean, safe and welcoming?

We're looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Retail Cleaning Operative to join our team, helping maintain excellent cleaning and housekeeping standards within a busy retail environment.

You'll play an important role in ensuring the store is clean, presentable and ready for customers each day, from maintaining retail areas to preparing changing rooms, showers and customer facilities.

What You'll Be Doing

• Clean and maintain retail areas, toilets, changing rooms, showers and other customer facilities.

• Ensure all areas are clean, tidy and ready for customers before store opening.

• Carry out routine cleaning and spot cleaning of windows and other surfaces.

• Replenish essential supplies, including soap, toilet rolls and other consumables.

• Complete housekeeping tasks to support the smooth running of the store.

• Follow cleaning schedules, specifications and health and safety procedures.

• Report maintenance, cleaning or housekeeping issues to your Supervisor or Team Leader.

• Use cleaning equipment and materials safely, wearing appropriate PPE.

• Work closely with colleagues to maintain consistently high standards.

• Take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving cleaning issues.

What We're Looking For

• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience would be beneficial, particularly within retail or another busy environment.

• A reliable and punctual approach to work.

• Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.

• A positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues.

• The ability to work independently and use your initiative.

• Good communication skills and a professional approach.

• An understanding of basic cleaning and health and safety practices.
