Role: Electrical Engineer
Location: London – (must be flexible to travel across other sites when required.)
Reports to: Pareto FM Lead Engineer
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Salary: £42,000 Plus Travel
Key Purpose:
• Pareto FM are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join us on a permanent basis.
• Perform and complete Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks, ensuring all building systems function optimally.
• Electrically biased but with good knowledge of mechanical and building services.
Key Accountabilities:
· Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and internal/external suppliers by resolving service issues.
· Owning maintenance service requests from submission to completion and feeding back to the client and Facilities Management team. The first line of response for all associated M&E and Fabric issues.
· Carry out statutory compliance tasks to all facility-related services.
· Maintain records and update computer-based management systems.
· Ensure works are completed to a high standard, within budget and key client requirements are met.
· Must give regular reports and updates to the Pareto FM lead engineer and the client.
· Support and manage subcontractors carrying out routine and emergency breakdown maintenance both in and out of hours. Ensure that RAMS are appropriate, and contractors are complying with them at all times. Check and verify all work has been completed.
· Where requested provide technical M&E advice and support to the client.
· Liaise with other professionals undertaking project work and contribute site and maintenance information where required.
· Liaise with the client and other Pareto FM staff to develop and disseminate national best practice in M&E maintenance and procedures.
· Meet with and participate in site and property teams and provide technical input in other areas e.g. security, health and safety, risk assessments, utility infrastructures, counter disaster planning and other appropriate initiatives.
· Consult and inform the client of work that is taking place across the site. Always try to work around lab testing if possible and ensure there is minimal downtime of lab operations.
· Undertake other works of a similar nature as required and directed by the client and Pareto FM lead Engineer .
· Have a good eye for innovation and improvement of existing systems and processes.
· Be the go-to person for the client when an issue arises.
· Must be prepared to ‘fill the gaps’ and step into other Facilities Management roles in times of constrained resource.
· Be part of the on-call rota – Approx 1 week a month
Competencies:
• AM2 & NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation/Maintenance.
• BS7671 18th edition.
• Able to design new systems and additions to existing installations.
• Must be familiar with the general risks and hazards associated with building work including asbestos.
• A great understanding of legal compliance within maintenance and Facilities management; as well as how to achieve and maintain it to a high standard.
• PC literate and competent in use of MS Office Package including MS Excel and MS Word. An ideal candidate has experience with security system programs such as CCTV and access control and CAFM systems.
• Able to independently problem solve and undertake general maintenance tasks to a high quality.
• Must be happy to supervise and manage contractors.
• Willing to learn and understand our systems on site: fire alarm, heating system, AC, compressed air etc.
• Some knowledge of mechanical engineering/plumbing and building construction.
• Excellent communicative, and feedback skills.

• IOSH Managing Safely
• Inspection and Testing Qualification (2391/2394/2395)
